A Decade of 2‑Star Michelin • Imperial Treasure Fine Chinese Cuisine in Shanghai

As one of Imperial Treasure Group’s restaurants, Imperial Treasure Fine Chinese Cuisine at Yifeng Galleria in Shanghai has been awarded Two Stars in the Michelin Guide Shanghai, Jiangsu & Zhejiang 2026, marking a milestone that cements a remarkable decade of culinary recognition.

For ten consecutive years, the restaurant has demonstrated unwavering elegance and a profound dedication to Chinese fine dining.

Imperial Treasure Fine Chinese Cuisine at Yifeng Galleria is also one of the Top 30 Chinese Restaurants of the World 2025.

Adding to this impressive list of accolades, the Yifeng Galleria restaurant, together with the group’s 2-Star Michelin and 1-Star Michelin Imperial Treasure restaurants in Guangzhou, launched the group’s first‑ever Chinese Wine List in November 2025.

This carefully curated selection marks a significant step in showcasing the rising quality and diversity of wines from China’s wine regions. The wine list features 9 exceptional wines from 8 acclaimed wineries, representing the distinct terroirs of Hebei, Ningxia, Shanxi, Shandong, Xinjiang, and Yunnan.

The selection is curated by CH’NG Poh Tiong, a world authority on Marselan, Chinese wine, and Japanese Koshu. A Bordeaux specialist with more than a hundred trips to the region, CH’NG has written six books on Chinese cuisine and pairing wine with Chinese food.

The Imperial Treasure story began not in Shanghai, but in Singapore.

Founded in 2004 by Alfred Leung, the group’s first venture outside its home base was precisely this Yifeng Galleria location.

Today, it stands as one of Shanghai’s most popular dining destinations.

Originally from Hong Kong, Alfred Leung came to Singapore in 1981 to work for the now-defunct Happy Valley, the most expensive Chinese restaurant at the time. Later, he also worked for Wah Lok in the Carlton Hotel, Kirin Court, and co-founded Crystal Jade in 1990 before leaving to start Imperial Treasure.

The Imperial Treasure Group is now also present in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, London, and Paris. The selection of markets is very focused. In the words of founder Alfred Leung, “In my travels around the world, I see a gap in the market for fine Chinese cuisine. Today, good food alone is not enough. Service, ambience and beautiful plating are also key considerations.”
