World Premiere • Eric Boissenot’s First Chinese Wine

Eric Boissenot is the “Grape Descendant” of Bordeaux’s most illustrious legacy of wine consultants.

It began with Emile Peynaud (1912-2004), aided by his student Jacques Boissenot (1938-2014).

When the good professor retired, Boissenot set up his own laboratory and their clients followed him. Jacques Boissenot (a black belt judoka) chose his son Eric – who began helping his father when just 14 years young – as his right-hand man.

Eric Boissenot holds a Doctorate in Oenology-Ampelology from the University of Bordeaux.

On 10 March 2026 in his laboratory in the ancient village of Lamarque on the Left Bank, Eric Boissenot blended Silk Road Harvest Red 2025.

The brief to Bordeaux’s most influential wine consultant – including to all four Médoc First Growths namely Lafite, Latour, Margaux, and Mouton – was to blend a single cuvée from the six components of five varieties: Cabernet Franc; Merlot from two different vineyards; Cabernet Sauvignon; Marselan; and, Petit Verdot.

It took about two and half-hours to blend Silk Road Harvest Red Grand Cuvée 2025.

There was no intention of a second wine.

However, such was the quality of Merlot C27, CH’NG Poh Tiong (who organised the blending) asked Eric Boissenot if he would consider blending another cuvée from what was left of the samples, to which he agreed. So was born Cuvée Inspiration, a vinous sibling to Silk Road Grand Cuvée 2025.

On 29 November 2026 at Singapore Forever, a walkabout tasting at The Tower Club, be the first to taste the World Premiere of Cuvée Inspiration 2025.

Silk Road Founder Proprietor LI Yong will be in Singapore to pour Harvest Red Cuvée Inspiration 2025.
