The Yanjing region – including Zuogong, Basu and Zayu – has nurtured grapevines since the Tubo period (618–842 AD), when local wines were prized as tribute.
By the mid‑19th century, French missionaries brought their own varieties and techniques, merging with indigenous practices to create a unique winemaking heritage.
In 2009, Tibetan LUOSONG Ciren established Tibet Mangkang County Eastern Tibet Treasure Wine Co., Ltd. on this extraordinary terroir. He named the brand – Domaine de Dameiyong – after Dameiyong Snow Mountain, the source of the region’s irrigation water.
QU Cuo, his younger sister, serves as General Manager. She connects the winery with local farmers through a collaborative model, and promotes the region’s unique plateau agriculture to the international markets.

Dameiyong Snow Mountain
Domaine de Dameiyong’s vineyards are located in the dry‑hot valley of the Lancang River, planted on steep slopes at altitudes of 2,100 to 2,700 metres. The vines benefit from intense sunlight, cool nights and mineral‑rich soils.
Thirteen varieties thrive here: Chardonnay, Vidal, Petit Verdot, Petit Manseng, Moldova, Crystal (Niagara Grape), Rose Honey Grape, Muscat, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan, and Nero d’Avola.
The winery’s range is as diverse as its landscape. Labels include:

In 2024, for example, it harvested 580 tonnes of grapes, helping raise average annual household income by more than RMB 8,000 – a strong driver of rural revitalisation.
